What it is actually like

The west side's own city, with Mendota frontage along Century Shore, a downtown that has grown up fast and schools that draw buyers on their own.

Middleton's lake frontage runs the west shore of Mendota, which gives you the long view back toward the Capitol and the university. Sunrise comes up over that skyline, and the evening light lands on your side of the water.

Away from the shoreline, Middleton is a full city: a walkable downtown with a brewery row, the Pheasant Branch conservancy, and the kind of grocery and service density that lake townships do not have. Buyers relocating for work at Epic or on the west side often shortlist Middleton first.

Newer construction is a real factor here. A meaningful share of the frontage stock was built or substantially rebuilt after 2000, so buyers who do not want a mechanical project find more options than on the older north shore.
